WordPress File Upload and GDPR

GDRP, the new General Data Protection Regulation of the European Union becomes effective on 25 May 2018. This regulation brings many changes on how personal data are collected, stored and handled by websites, giving more control to their owners, the European citizens and residents.

Although it is a European regulation, it affects all websites processing data of EU residents, so its scope is worldwide.

WordPress websites are affected by GDPR, so are WordPress plugins that process personal data, which must comply to the new requirements.

In this respect, Iptanus team is already working on adapting WordPress File Upload plugin to the new regulation.

Version 4.5.0 of WordPress File Upload that will be released before 25 May 2018 will be GDPR compliant.

We will keep you posted on the new release.

For any questions or information do not hesitate to contact us.

Best Regards

The Iptanus Team

  1. Hi,
can we still expect the GDPR compliant 4.5.0 update in time? My website relies heavily on this wonderful plugin so I keep hoping WordPress File Upload will be compliant.
