Friday, 13-December-2019. New version 4.12.1 of WordPress File Upload plugin has just been released.
Version 4.12.1 is a minor release introducing some bug fixes of the previous version, 4.12.0. Most important it fixed a bug where users could not download files from the front-end file viewer of the plugin.
Version 4.12.0 is a significant release introducing session-less operation.
Until now the plugin was using session to store User State, however this was causing problems with the latest versions of WordPress (loopback errors in Site Health, could not edit files with Theme and Plugin Editor, performance issues).
NOTE: In case the new handler causes unpredictable issues, Session user state handler still remains as an option in plugin’s Settings.
Other improvements introduced in this version are:
- SFTP support improved using PHPSecLib library.
- Corrected a bug in FTP Credentials Configurator that was not correctly handling usernames and passwords containing at (@) and colon (:) characters.
- Improved functionality and control of file downloader.
You can check more details in the Release Notes of the plugin’s support page.
Users can update to the latest version using the Update feature of the Plugins section of their Dashboard.
